We are very pleased to announce KAA Gent as the third professional football club that will join our tournament with their U15s. Originally the club would have debuted in 2020 at our tournament, but we are happy to welcome them again this June.
The first team of KAA Gent won the national league once, in 2014–15, in addition to three Belgian Cup victories. Former FC Utrecht midfielder Nana Asare was part of the team that won the Belgian league in 2015.
Mbark Boussoufa started at Ajax youth but later on joined Gent before moving to Anderlecht two seasons after his debut. But undeniably the most famous player that once played for the Buffalos is Kevin de Bruyne. De Bruyne played 6 years for KAA Gent in his youth career before he moved to Genk, where he debuted as a professional player.
Will we see another Belgian team win the cup? Belgian giants Anderlecht managed to win the OSM '75 International U15 Tournament five (!) times since 2009. Can KAA Gent follow their footsteps with their first in 2022? Let's find out June 11 & 12.
